The Guanli Canadair CL-415 superscooper water bomber

This is a video of  Steve’s Guanli Canadair CL-415 doing some water dropping. This model plane does not normally come equipped for water dropping so Steve modified it with a Depron foam water tank and servo actuated poppet valve. The tank is filled with a squeeze bottle of water before takeoff. Adding some red food coloring to the water makes it easier to see and simulates a fire retardant drop.
In the still photos from this video the plane with the white spinners is the modified one. The other one belongs to me and has not yet been modified to drop water.

These planes fly equally great off of water or grass.
